RESCHEDULE DEADLINE

The deadline for all games to be played is May 31st. We will not be playing any games over Memorial Day weekend. If you have a "Pending" games FOR ANY REASON all coaches have a very limited number of days to reschedule.  Scheduling the game will be based on where it fits best from both a field and referee point of view.

Anchored Goals

GAMES WILL BE CANCELLED IF THE GOALS AREN'T ANCHORED!!!

Several referees have reported goals not being properly anchored. If that is the case- the refereees have been directed to cancel the game. This is a directive from NSSA. We are stressing this safety issue for all concerned. The club responsible for the fields MUST have the goals anchored or we are putting everyone in danger. NO ANCHORS- NO GAME.

Referees are to check the goals before every game. That is a MUST.

Goals must be anchored or a game cannot be played. If there are not two (2) anchors they can play- in other words- if a goal is anchored in such a way with one anchor so that it will not move in a manner deemed dangerous, the game may be played. BUT the field must be reported to the league ASAP.

BE A ROLE MODEL FOR YOUR PLAYERS

Practicing good sportsmanship is an individual act that reaches beyond just your players. Achieving good sportsmanship requires individual acts by all involved in the competition; players, coaches, parents, and referees. As a coach, use your position of authority to set expectations and most importantly, to guide your players.

CAR BREAK INS AT SEVERAL SITES

Once again, we have reports from at least four sites of cars being broken into.  At one site, side windows were smashed and purses were stolen out of three cars.  If you see any suspicious activity in these lots, call 911 immediately and do not approach the perpetrators. Do not leave valuables in your car; if you must, cover them, tuck them under your seat out of view, or put them in your trunk before arriving at your field.  If you are a victim, report it to the police and then report it to ENSA.

Reschedule Notification

To All Coaches:

Two major areas of concern on reschedules: First, we have been receiving several reschedule requests where coaches are not giving the league 7 - 10 days notification for team request reschedules that we ask for.  We have had to levy fines against some teams for both short notification times and referee fees this season.  Second, we need two agreed upon dates minimum for any reschedule and provide 10 days notice before the first date to able to provide both a field and ensure finding referees.

Thanks for your prompt attention to this.

Limited Parking at Elkhorn Soccer Fields

The City of Omaha will begin work as early as April 10 on a project that will block access to the back dirt parking lot that services Elkhorn soccer fields E5, E6, E7, & E8 at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park. Parking for all Ta-Ha-Zouka fields will be limited to 2 parking lots located near the center of the park and east end of the park.  These are between E1 & E2 and near E2 & E3.  The back dirt lot near E5, E6, E7 & E8 will be closed. The project is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks.

RESCHEDULES - TIME AND PLACE

When rescheduling games, please give dates only. Asking for specific times and fields restricts our process.  We are limited by several factors, including field usage and referee availability.

Please Leave Your Dogs At Home

As much as we love them, ENSA policy states that dogs should be left at home and not brought to your ENSA game. Several complexes have NO PET policies and they are enforced. Do Fido a favor and leave him home!

Updated Coaches Handbook

The ENSA Coach's Handbook has been updated and is posted under the "COACH'S RESOURCES" tab.  All coaches need to familiarize themselves with this manual.
